It has been an exceptional year for Gym Wizard, marked by significant milestones and continued growth. Celebrating our 20th anniversary was a proud moment for our entire team, and a reminder of how far we’ve come. Of course, none of this would be possible without our fantastic clients, whose trust in our award-winning reupholstery services across gyms, hotels, and facilities throughout the UK is the foundation of our success.
One of this year’s highlights was securing a new national contract with Ballantyne Gyms, becoming their exclusive provider of reupholstery and repair services across more than 60 UK sites. During a recent visit to several of their Scottish locations, our team completed a full refresh of gym pads. Because the pads were pre-prepared at our workshop, we were able to service five gyms in a single day, efficiently, seamlessly, and without any disruption to their operations.
CHAS Elite: A Mark of Trust
In February, we were delighted to announce that Gym Wizard achieved CHAS Elite certification, reflecting our unwavering commitment to outstanding health and safety standards. Managing Director Chris Medley said of this achievement:

Delivering Specialist Solutions Through Our Family of Brands
In April, we officially launched Yorx, our sister company dedicated to corporate, commercial, and public-space furniture reupholstery nationwide. This arm of the business has grown organically over the years, initially sparked by a long-standing partnership with David Lloyd, who asked us to support their lounges, receptions, and spa areas in addition to their gym equipment.
As demand increased, we expanded, opened a second workshop, and ultimately created a standalone brand with its own identity and website. Since its launch, Yorx has continued to gain momentum, attracting a broad new client base.
Our healthcare-focused sister company, MediWizard, has also seen a surge in demand this year. As more medical facilities become aware of the quality and cost-effectiveness of specialist reupholstery, many of our initial projects have naturally led to additional contracts and long-term partnerships. Chris recently commented:
“It’s been a fantastic journey. Our team has grown, we’ve added specialist workspaces, bespoke mobile vans and talented staff, and the response has been incredible. We’re genuinely proud of the unique service we’re able to offer.”
Supporting Our Community
This year, we made it a priority to give back to the communities that support us. We donated our services to reupholster gym equipment at Manchester Youth Zone, a vital facility supporting thousands of young people in North Manchester.
Closer to home, we refreshed furniture for Cowling Primary School, free of charge, helping the school preserve valuable budget while supporting local families. We also continued our support for grassroots sport, becoming the kit sponsor for the Sutton Juniors U9 Rascals and sponsoring both a pitchside board and a player at Cowling Football Club.

As we look ahead, everyone at Gym Wizard is energised for what’s next. We are excited to continue expanding Yorx while further strengthening our trusted services for gyms and medical facilities nationwide.
