What a Wiz of a Year it’s Been!
It’s been another year of remarkable growth for us, and we were busy from the start, with multiple projects including a visit to regular client David Lloyd to update their seating and chairs and stools and modular seating for the viewing lounge at Swim! In Warrington.
In March we celebrated the awarding of CHAS accreditation for another year as we continued to demonstrate our compliance across a range of quality, health and environmental criteria. This continuing accreditation is again a testament to our Gym Wizard team as they maintain the highest standards.
Talking of high standards, we had the pleasure in May of visiting an exclusive address on The Strand in London to reupholster a very expensive piece of designer furniture needing some TLC. Something a bit different and a happy client! And happy clients are what we are all about, as Nuffield Health, Fitness & Wellbeing left us a great comment after we installed 20 new bench cushions at their Milton Keynes facility:
“Cracking work as always from the Gym Wizard team, never an issue with them and would highly recommend!”
Our prototyping services were put to the test again this year, including an interesting project for the team in the design and prototyping of a bespoke chaise lounge for a client in the fitness recovery sector. Dedicated areas for active cool-downs have become more prevalent in gyms and these pieces are designed to be used during the recovery process. We also installed bespoke pads over the summer on a ‘built-to-order’ machine custom-designed by Deus Fitness.
This year saw a growth in demand for our sister company Mediwizard’s services as more medical practices, physio and treatment centres discovered our reupholstering service to be a much more cost-effective and environmentally friendly method than simply replacing it with new furniture.
The autumn months included signing another Premier League football club for our MediWizard team as we headed over to the blue and white side of North London to reupholster a range of their in-house medical equipment. Work included new anti-microbial vinyl covers for physiotherapy and treatment tables, along with newly branded taping station seating. Shortly after our visit, the team went back to the top of the Premiership table. Sometimes it’s the small things that make a difference!
Not long after, we performed some magic as we reupholstered 115 pads, and embroidered and fitted 42 branded sleeves – all in a single November day, across two Vision Gym fitness centres in Gateshead and Cramlington. So it wasn’t much of a surprise to finish the year with another award, as we scored the hat-trick of 3 Northern Enterprise Awards in a row!
